Marseille, France

Stopped off in Marseille for 4 days in 2022 en route to the village of Cassis, further along the coast of the south of France.

These images were all taken in and around ‘Le Panier’, the oldest district of Marseille. Lots of narrow streets and alleyways, small squares, street art, staircases and lovely old buildings - all just a few minutes walk from the port.

As one of the guide books says, to make the most of this place, the best way is to wander around until you get lost in the narrow streets - and then adjourn for a drink in one of the many cafes that abound there.
