Andalucia, Spain

A fortnight’s trip driving around Andalucia in May 2016. We started with a few days in Granada, before heading up to Cordoba, an important Roman city and a major Islamic centre in the Middle Ages. It’s best known for La Mezquita, an immense mosque dating from 784 A.D. but which became a Catholic church in 1236.

From there it was on to Seville, the Region’s capital and home to the the ornate Alcázar castle complex and thence to Jerez de la Frontera - the centre of the sherry producing area of Spain.

Heading eastwards took us to Ronda for a few days before finishing up in Malaga, a city which has changed significantly over the past decade or so - and home to the excellent Picasso museum.
