Winner - Sunday Times Travel Competition, June, 2022

Pleased, and surprised to see that I’ve won the weekly Sunday Times Travel photography competition - The Big Shot. It gets me a £250 voucher - and on the shortlist for their main prizes.

It was taken early one morning at the Bristol Balloon Festival, in the UK - it was a perfect day for balloon-flying and so there were lots of balloons going up. Fortunately, from my perspective two very colourful balloons took off and flew over me - these with the vivid blue background of the sky, the fact that there was some separation between of them and the pleasing symmetry, made the image for me.
